Using MiraPrint, you will be able to format reports to print to PostScript® printers,
or PostScript® translators such as GhostScript®. The full power of the Progress® 4GL / Openedge® ABL
is in your hands when designing and outputting your reports. The included
MiraPrint Form Source language enables you to design forms (or macros) to be called
at will in the 4GL.
Scalability and ease of use are a key concerns for us here so we've built MiraPrint with that in mind. One of MiraPrint's key features
is the ability to convert existing reports designed to be used with pre-printed forms; to reports that include the form image with very little programming effort.
Simply add 2-3 lines of code to your existing report and you're ready to go.
Cross-platform compatibility enables you to run many of your reports on either the client or the server. You aren't tied to any
operating system API calls. If you change platforms in the future, MiraPrint is ready.
Electronic Document Archiving is a breeze with MiraPrint. Simply direct your MiraPrint
output stream to go through a Postscript processor such as GhostScript and out comes a PDF version
of your form ready to preview in Adobe Acrobat® or electronically archive for later retrival through your
WebSpeed™ application.
Using a PostScript® interpreter such as GhostScript® you are able
to create documents that print on virtually any printer, or convert the
documents to .PDF (Acrobat® Portable Document Format) files on the fly.
